How to Play
Everything you need to park 60 levels cleanly — controls, the hearts rule, parallel parking technique and how conditions change the physics.

Keyboard & touch controls
| Input | Action | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| W / ↑ | Accelerate | Keep it light near the bay — speed is what ruins clean runs. |
| S / ↓ | Brake / Reverse | Reversing reverses the steering feel. Enter blind bays slow enough to correct. |
| A / ← | Steer left | Compact cars turn sharply; the limousine barely responds to small inputs. |
| D / → | Steer right | Same principle — wide vehicles need early, committed turns. |
| Space | Handbrake | Locks the rear wheels for a drift pivot. Useful for sharp 90° turns in tight alleys. |
| Shift | Crawl mode | Caps speed at ~1.5 m/s. Activate before a mirror-level kerbside park. |
| C | Cycle camera | Top-down is the best view for judging bay alignment. Chase is best for reading traffic. |
| Esc | Pause overlay | Resumes with Resume, restarts with Restart, or quits to the main menu. |
The three-hit rule
Every collision with a wall, cone, crate or moving traffic vehicle costs one heart. The HUD displays ♥ ♥ ♥ in the upper-left; each impact removes one. After the fourth hit the run fails instantly with a hits verdict.
Heavy impacts also fill a damage meter. Reaching 100% wrecks the car regardless of remaining hearts — a single hard collision with a wall or a bad landing from a stunt ramp can end the level outright. Keep speed moderate when approaching narrow gates and parked traffic; it pays off in cleaner scores.
Parallel parking technique
Parallel kerbside bays appear on levels 7, 18, 35, 39, 52, 54, 56 and 59. They look simpler than they are because the car has to occupy the same space twice — once while driving past it, once while reversing into it.
- Pull up alongside the car in front of the bay, leaving about one metre of lateral gap.
- Reverse until your front bumper is aligned with the rear bumper of the car ahead — the car will start angling into the slot.
- Turn fully toward the bay and keep reversing until the car is roughly parallel with the curb. Straighten the wheels and finish the last metre of reverse.
- If you overshoot, pull forward and re-align. Reverse bays always allow a second bite.
Weather & surface behaviour
Rain applies an 80% acceleration multiplier, 62% braking power, 140% drag and an 18% grip penalty. The road surface texture also shifts to wet asphalt, which is visually distinct and signals the physics change. Brake earlier and avoid sharp steering inputs — the car will slide longer after you let go.
Fog increases atmospheric density and shortens visibility to about 30–40 m. The bay outline is still visible at close range, but landmarks and the guiding arrow fade quickly. On fog-bound levels like 17 and 24, trust the lane lines and the bay glow over distant geometry.
Gravel (level 22) replaces asphalt entirely and behaves like a permanent low-grip state — no rain penalty is needed because the surface itself is loose stone. The car coasts long after the throttle is released, which rewards momentum conservation over stop-start precision.
Scoring & coins
Every level has a par time. Finish within it for two stars; finish within85% of par with zero collisions for three stars. Coins are awarded from:
- 100 — base completion bonus
- +50 — perfect park (centre distance < 0.3 m and angle < 0.085 rad)
- +50 — clean run (no collisions at all)
- +25 — very fast (finish ≤ 60% of par time)
Your total score per level is coins × 10 + stars × 250 + max(0, par − time) × 15, which feeds the overall ranking across all levels.
Level order & suggested progression
The full level list has 60 entries split into two stages. If you're new, follow the order:
- L1–L4 — learn forward/reverse control and the bay-hold requirement
- L5–L7 — first ramps and first parallel park
- L8–L10 — garage navigation and night driving
- L11–L14 — ramps, timed gates and rain
- L15–L20 — tier 2 difficulty; bay surroundings tighten
- L21–L30 — tier 3–4; blind bays and fog
- L31–L40 — Mountain Pass chapter begins; gradient matters
- L41–L60 — tier 4–5 mountain gauntlets
The Mountain Pass stage (levels 31–60) introduces road gradients, hairpins, rockfall hazards and cliff-edge laybys. The driving physics are the same — the geography is what changes.
Frequently asked questions
- What are the keyboard controls for Car Parking Simulator?
- W or Up Arrow — accelerate. S or Down Arrow — brake / reverse. A / Left Arrow — steer left. D / Right Arrow — steer right. Space — handbrake (drift lock). Shift — crawl mode (caps speed at ~1.5 m/s for precision work). C — cycle camera between chase, top-down, hood and cockpit views. Esc — pause overlay.
- What are the touch controls on mobile?
- The game detects pointer events and shows on-screen pedals and steering buttons automatically. Gas on the right, brake-reverse on the left, steering arrows below them, and a dedicated handbrake button. The layout mirrors the desktop keys so muscle memory carries across.
- What does the 3-hit rule mean?
- Every scrape, collision or knocked cone takes one heart. The HUD shows remaining hearts out of three. The fourth hit ends the run immediately. Heavy impacts also fill a damage meter — reach 100% and the car wrecks regardless of remaining hearts.
- How do I get a perfect park (3 stars)?
- Finish the level in under 85% of the par time with zero collisions, AND park within 0.3 m of the bay centre and under 0.085 rad of heading error. That combination gives the perfect-bonus coins and contributes toward the Perfect Park achievement.
- How do stunt ramps work?
- Ramps first appear at level 5. Drive up the ramp at moderate speed — the car launches off the lip with a hop whose height is proportional to your approach speed. The farther and harder you land, the more damage you take. Aim for a level, four-wheel landing and avoid sideways impacts at all costs.
- Why does the car slide more in rain and on gravel?
- Rain applies an 80% acceleration multiplier, 62% braking power and 140% drag to simulate wet grip loss, plus a 18% grip reduction. Gravel surfaces replace asphalt texture and add a low-grip regime from the outset — the car coasts and drifts longer after you release the throttle.
- How do I unlock new cars?
- Earn coins by completing levels (base 100 + performance bonuses), then open the Garage and buy. The City Compact is free at level 1. Each subsequent car unlocks at a minimum level and has a price — the coach at 7,000 coins / level 18 is the final unlock. Once bought, a car is yours permanently.
- Does the game save my progress?
- Yes — coins, stars, best times, unlocked levels, owned cars, paint and wheel choices, and achievements persist in your browser's localStorage under the key cps_save_v1. Clearing site data or switching devices resets everything; there is no cloud sync.
